Ever since Shane Balkowitsch can remember he had the dream of owning a Porsche. He is a true fan of the Porsche cars and he always thought he will own a 911, but the 356 caught he’s attention, owning a classic is another story. So he purchased a 1965 coupe disassembled waiting to be restored.

Bill Hamilton at Hamilton Classics in Texas assisted him in all the brainstorming and in the restoration process. Their goal was to take an original Porsche 356 and have it restored into a beautiful, unique and reliable Outlaw for everyday driving. Shane tried to use as many original parts as possible but if a part does not function properly or is aesthetically flawed and cannot be restored he replaced it with new mint part. The end result is very important but equally important is the journey getting there. The quotes below by Ferry Porsche will be the cornerstones for this build.

They have taken the motor from stock 95HP up to 150HP with over $15,000 in performance parts keeping the stock case and heads. The car is also painted K45-286 356 No. 1 Silver, with the paint codes coming directly from Stuttgart, a specific silver from the first Porsche ever in 1948.

This Outlaw restoration project deserves all the attention, so we further invite you to visit Shane Balkowitsch’s 356C Coupe project website.
