The sound of a Porsche 997 GT3 or GT3 RS roaring through the streets is captivating, and music to the ears of many car fans.
However, many racetracks and motorsport events are subject to strict noise limits, particularly in the evenings and at night. So Porsche specialists Cargraphic have developed and built a ‘quiet’ tailpipe for the Porsche 997 GT3 and GT3 RS. This additional silencer for Porsche’s sports aces is available now for €595 (plus VAT).
Depending on the basic exhaust system in use, the incorporation of perforated sheets allows the sound level to be reduced by around 3 to 5 dBA. As the decibel scale is logarithmic rather than linear, this small numerical difference can be felt to be a significant noise reduction. In terms of quality, the Cargraphic tailpipe is the perfect complement to the original high-quality system or its aftermarket counterpart – especially from Cargraphic.
The company, based in Landau in Germany, produces all components for its exhaust systems at its own factory in England. Only high-quality T304 stainless steel is used, making the polished twin tailpipe with its 2 x 100 millimetre outlets a real feast for the eyes, too. But much more importantly, although the GT3 and GT3 RS become quieter with the new Cargraphic twin tailpipe, they don’t lose any of their basic characteristic sound. After all, you don’t have to stand right in front of the speakers to enjoy a brilliant rock concert either.
