TECHART shows an extract of its individualization program at the Essen Motor Show 2011. One of the highlights is the TECHART GTStreet R based on the Porsche 911 Turbo, equipped with the new TECHART power kit TA 097/T3 and an impressive performance of 700 hp and 880 Nm torque. The presentation in Essen will be completed with the TECHART GrandGT based on the Porsche Panamera Turbo as well as the new Aerodynamic Kit I for the Porsche Cayenne Turbo, presented a few weeks ago at the IAA in Frankfurt in a world premiere.

Having gained many years’ experience, especially in the Porsche Sports Cup, Carrera Cup and more recently with the 997 GT3 R in the ADAC GT Masters, the team surrounding Niko Wieth understand exactly what is necessary to make a 911 even faster. After all the team was the overall champion in the Porsche Sports Cup in 2009 with a Porsche 997 GT2 and knows the iconic sports car from Zuffenhausen inside out. Ultimately it is the well founded knowledge of chassis technology and over all set up which only a handful of specialists here in Europe can demonstrate.

This time the aim in developing the Carrera 435s was not to make a GT2 or GT3 quicker, but to inject an everyday 911 with a significant dose of fun whilst not reducing that everyday usability. The result is a 911 at the level of a GT3 but is not a spartan or extreme racer with racing bucket seats and harness or overt wings and spoilers but can still achieve the lap times of a GT3. The concept is based on 3 building blocks: intelligent weight reduction in key areas, a moderate increase in power, as well as, drawing on one a-workx’s core competences to create a perfectly balanced and set up chassis.

For these reasons a-workx has only used components for the „Carrera 435s“ with which they have had extensive and good experience; s stands for „Street sport“ and 435 refers to the power output.

Here are the details of the vehicle:
In order to improve the brake performance, a-workx have installed a MOV`IT Performance sports brake system which aligns the brake performance with the increased capabilities of the vehicle and ensure fade free deceleration during an eventual excursion to the race track. The 6 pot brake calipers at the front together with larger discs (Ø370×35 mm / 149/16“ x 13/8“), steel braided brake lines and competition brake fluid significantly reduce the braking distance.

The core of the chassis modifications is a Club Sport suspension developed in conjunction with the experts from KW Automotive. The suspension set up has been specifically tuned to suit the vehicles characteristics. The professional racing drivers Sebastian Asch and Michael Ammermüller, together with their race engineers, were responsible for fine tuning the set up. The interaction between ride height, weight distribution over all four wheels (wheel load), track and camber settings, the correct spring and damper settings as well as the exact setting of the compression and rebound rates is what is finally responsible for the maximum contact between the tyres and the road or track surface and so for the optimum traction and best possible grip. The 7.9 kg (17½ lbs) light ATS-Superlight wheels (Standard 10.2 kg / 22 ½lbs) also bring significant advantages as the suspension, due to the reduced wheel mass reacts more sensitively and so functions better. A special highlight is how comfortable the ride is despite the sporting set up. Thus the vehicle ride is significantly more supple than the standard set up in sport mode, and disputes the age old adage „the harder the better“.

The ultra light titanium exhaust system fitted by a-workx also contributes to the reduced weight of the 435s (minus 10 kg / 22 lbs), as well as a significant 17 HP (DIN) (with ECU software optimization 27 HP) increase in power and so also to the enhanced driving enjoyment. Behind the exhaust system stands the know-how from the performance sports exhaust specialists from Akrapovic, who have once again produced a technological piece of art with the perfectly formed pipe work. A remote controlled exhaust valve allows the driver to choose between the howl of a race car or a more reserved exhaust tone depending on the situation and mood. If one chooses the „Race-Mode“, then it is guaranteed that every acoustic desire will be fulfilled. In fact many GT3 drivers will be jealous of the sound which is reminiscent to the Porsche icon, the Carrera GT.

Ultimately the enhanced 911 must however prove itself on the road and race track. And the expectations will definitely be fulfilled. The 435s turns in precisely, cries for the next bend and masters every variation of curve enthusiastically and completely neutrally. There is absolutely no trace of the infamous tail happiness and after a short period to become accustomed with the vehicle, the driver feels confident enough to switch off the traction control. One feels how the perfectly set up suspension and the excellent Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tyres harmonize with one another and create the best possible grip. The reduction in mass behind the rear axle due to the titanium exhaust system allows the 911 to appear controllable and ultimately allows the driver to negotiate the curves even quicker.

Forge Motorsport have once again been wielding their welders and sculpting aluminium to create this simply stunning pair of uprated intercoolers for all Porsche 996 Turbo models.

The new ‘coolers are similar in dimension to the OEM units, but are measurably thicker. This allows them to be mounted directly onto the factory mounting brackets as a direct replacement. The kit also contains uprated, motorsport quality silicon hoses to allow these new units to be easily plumbed in. Thanks to a much more efficient ‘bar and plate’ core construction, Forge have seen a proven increase in cooling efficiency after a series of independent dyno runs at Regal Autosport. In tests there, the Forge unit managed a creditable drop in intake temperature of some 24° centigrade!

Custom Concepts has announced plans to offer a retro styling package for the Porsche 911 (997).

Swedish car designed, Bo Zolland, has hooked up with Custom Concepts from The Netherlands to create a retro styling package for the Porsche 997 (2005 to 2011) that brings the sports coupe’s looks closer to the original 911 of the 1960s.
The kit is slated to include a new front bumper with old-school indicator lights. There are also plans for a duck-tail spoiler and 19-inch FUCHS wheels.

The package is still under development, but everything looks pretty promising. Custom Concepts said that it will soon release more details on pricing and availability.

ADV.1 Wheels are back with another new project, this time they took a Porsche 997 GT3 RS into their workshop.

In addition to the awesome two-tone silver and black finish, ADV.1 Wheels added a new set of their 20″ ADV7.1 rims – 20×8.5 at the front and 20×12 at the back – wrapped in a set of Pirelli tires. On top of that, the 997 GT3 RS also got a cool Brushed Gunmetal color trim, further adding a sizzle of sexy to an already sultry German sports car.

German tuner Techart unveiled its new GTStreet RS based on the 911 GT2 RS. The car features a variety of upgrades, from carbon fiber aerodynamic enhancements to a power upgrade package that boosts the output of the twin-turbo flat-six to 710 horsepower and 664 lb-ft torque. Techart says that the GTSTreet RS can reach 100 km/h (about 62 mph) from a standing start in just 3.3 seconds and is capable of a top speed of 218 mph. Additional upgrades are available as well, including lightweight 20-inch wheels and custom interior appointments.

TECHART presents the GTStreet RS based on the Porsche 911 GT2 RS at the IAA. It is the most powerful car which has ever left the workshop in Leonberg. The super sports car fascinates with an impressive performance of 530 kW (720 PS) and 900 Nm torque in combination with an unmistakable characteristic body kit.

High End Performance
TECHART power kits are uncompromisingly sporty as well as suitable for daily on road use. These features as well as the years of experience of the TECHART engineers were given to the development of the power kit TA 097/T2.2 for the Porsche 911 GT2 RS. The overall performance of the sports car increases to 530 kW (720 hp), the maximum torque to 900 Nm. The measured data is impressive: the GTStreet RS accelerates from zero to hundred in 3.3 seconds. After 9.5 seconds the needle passes the 200 km/h mark. With a maximum speed of up to 352 km/h the top athlete confirms his new strength in an extraordinary way.

Unique design
The TECHART GTStreet RS impresses with performance – and its look. Its capability is reflected in the extraordinary exterior design of the sports car. The significantly lowered front apron with a fixed carbon splitter and an adjustable splitter of hard-wearing polyurethane-RIM ensures additional downforce and due to additional air-ducts an improved airflow to the brakes and intercooler. Eye-catcher at the rear: the rear spoiler made entirely of carbon-fibre – handling in extreme conditions is significantly smoother as a result. A rear apron with an integrated diffuser in carbon-fibre, air outlets as well as carbon-fibre air wings close the GTStreet RS program.

Performance and suitability for daily us fully compatible
Furthermore available is the TECHART Noselift System for the Porsche 911 GT2 RS. The hydraulic system features a trouble-free backfitting, a rapid height adjustment of approximately 10 mm/s with particularly silent operation as well as fully integrated operation via a button with a status indicator at the roof console. Besides the perfect integration in the GT2 RS, EMC-safe electronic control units, vehicle-specific CAN bus integrated wiring harnesses as well as high-performance test procedures are part of the premium development process.

Furthermore TECHART offers the 20-inch Formula Race lightweight forged centerlock wheel in sizes of 8,5J x 20 ET 40 and 8,5J x 20 ET 52 for the front axle and 12J x 20 ET 50 for the rear axle for the Porsche 911 GT2 RS. The rigidity and weight ratio was optimized for the TECHART Formula Race and – based on the lighter twin spokes and the connection through the centerlock – provides a weight advantages of 10% if compared to the TECHART Formula III forged wheel and impressive 25% if compared to a light alloy wheel. The result: a reduction of the rotating and unsprung mass, which results in an even more agile driving behaviour and increased driving dynamics.

Craftsmanship down to the last detail
Passion and love of detail – the exclusive TECHART character is also reflected in the interior of the sports car. TECHART’s complete leather furnishings ensure in combination with a delicately fashioned and custom-coloured decorative stitching a unique feeling. Individual decorative components made of carbon-fibre or aluminium pedals and illuminated door entry guards underline the uniquely athletic appearance of the interior. All in all, TECHART offers a virtually unlimited degree of freedom when it comes to customising the interior – with the TECHART-typical precision.
