Gemballa has not yet finished with the Carrera GT. They’ve updated there website today to give us a glympse of the Gemballa Mirage GT ‘Carbon Edition’. There is very few details however apart from the fact that it has 670bhp and that it will do 335 km/h (208mph).

It’s claimed that it will also do 0–100 km/h (62mph) in 3.7 seconds (Stock 3.9) 0-200 km/h (124mph) in 9.7 seconds (Stock 9.9). We suspect that this Mirage will be lighter than the other through the use of Carbon Fibre and Ceramic Brakes.
Conversion based on 980 Carrera GT

Prince Marcus Eberhard Edward of Anhalt, Duke of Saxony and Westphalia, Count of Askania, well known for his jetsetting and international tabledance club chain “Pure Platinum” as well as extensive supercar collection has taken the displeasure of severely cracking his orange Gemballa Porsche Carrera GT at the famous Paul Ricard racing circuit in France.

Gemballa is famous for building highly modified Porsches, many of which are based on the discontinued Carrera GT supercar. The tuner company has even introduced a number of variations on the theme, with prices starting at about €225,000 ($348,000) – on top of the price of your own Carrera GT. That’s what makes the crash of a bright orange example by Germany’s Prince Marcus so remarkable.

Next time you ask yourself, who has the money or inclination to buy a Porsche Carrera GT worth €500,000 in addition to Gemballa’s €225,000 tuning package, think of this guy!
You can see the Gemballa Porsche Carrera GT on the Gallery.

Agency Power has just released their all new carbon fiber cold air intake kit for the Porsche 996 Turbo. Horsepower gains and improved throttle response are something that most Porsche 996 Turbo owners look for. There are many ways to gain this kind of performance. Like most turbo vehicles, improving the intake system will help the engine breathe better.

When an engine can breathe better, performance is obtained. With the success in horsepower and torque gains from our aluminum 996TT intake system, Agency Power has now released our high end carbon fiber cold air intake for the Porsche 996 Turbo.

The cold air intake kit is made using aircraft carbon fiber construction. Using a specialized mold process, we are able to shape and provide radiuses that offer optimal air flow directed towards our air filter. Each box is then finished to provide an OEM looking shine to it. The system features a CNC machined 6061 aluminum MAF housing which is positioned like the factory unit for no CEL issues. To eliminate any errors, we use a steel mesh inside the intake tube which keeps the air flow laminar which helps with correct readings for the sensitive MAF. This tube is then powder coated in a texture black finish.

Joining the two carbon fiber boxes together is a 3.5 inch diameter 5ply silicone tube. The air flows from the factory inlet on the spoiler from the right box to the left box where a high flow K&N filter is located. The K&N cone filter comes pre-oiled and will last you almost 10,000 miles before you have to clean it. These filters have been tested with no effects on the factory MAF sensor. The filter is sealed in the left box with 4 black Allen screws to keep it cool from engine heat. The right box uses the factory mounting point to secure the intake in place.

As tested under street and highway conditions, the air inside the box stays approximately 5-10F degrees cooler then the engine compartment air. The Agency Power intake achieves an impressive 32 wheel horsepower and 22 ft/lbs of torque in strong points of the RPM range. Peak numbers are 21 ft/lbs of torque and 7 wheel horsepower. This intake kit fits both the standard 996TT, X50, and GT2 rear spoilers. Silicone colors are available in black, blue, silver, red, or yellow. All hardware is included for installation. Agency Power also includes detailed installation instructions on their website.

Porsche Carrera GT, one of the finest sports supercars, had a limited series production of roughly 1380 models. Owners of these completely sold-out vehicles, GEMBALLA gives the chance to top this exclusiveness. The Porsche customizing specialists of Leonberg, Germany transforms the Carrera GT into the GEMBALLA Mirage GT; offered in an extremly limited series of only 25 models. More than half of this series is already sold. Customers including several prominent ones, place their trust in the technical expertise of GEMBALLA assuring unquestionable singular uniqueness of their Mirage GT.

One thing is quite certain; a Mirage GT driver will find no better individualization anywhere. But GEMBALLA not only offers its Carrera GT-conversion on an extremely limited scale of 25 exemplars. Over and above this, every Mirage GT looks different. First of all, this is because no vehicle comes in the same colour. GEMBALLA here of course follows individual customer preferences. A well-known professional soccer player, for example, chose black with extravagant glitter finish. Secondly, the Mirage GT’s interior is uniquely distinguished as well. GEMBALLA made certain that the interior components such as carbon parts and leather are always furnished in different varied combinations. Eleven Mirage GTs have already been customized by GEMBALLA. Further vehicles are currently under modification. Those who would like to order and savour the exclusivity of a high-tech products, must hurry!

The Carrera GT engine is a dream. A meaty 5.7-litre V10 boasting 612 horsepower. What more could one want? More power of course! GEMBALLA operates on the same principle as racing drivers: “You can never have too much power”. By modifying the engine management electronics, GEMBALLA has been able to squeeze out a further 40 bhp of power and 20 Nm more torque for the V10, slicing off 0.1 seconds off the time it takes to go from 0 to 100 km/h. The fully stainless steel exhaust system now resounds through four tail pipes instead of the standard two. GEMBALLA has positioned the two extra tail pipes where the reverse and fog warning lamps used to be. The tuning specialist has relocated the two lamps to beneath the rear diffuser.

Complete racing look

With the GEMBALLA AERO-CONCEPT, the Mirage GT looks like it is planning to enter the Le Mans 24-hour race. The most conspicuous change to the front are the additional air intakes on the new front spoiler. In addition, GEMBALLA embellished the component with a spoiler lip. The bonnet has also been replaced. In the area between the wheel housing and door GEMBALLA has replaced the standard side panels with its own mudguards, with reshaped openings which blend harmoniously with the original design. Down below, new side skirts lend the vehicle a muscular line. They also come with a cooling vent for the breaks at the rear. One thing is certain! The racing look is enhanced by the new rear skirt, with its aerodynamically optimised mid section for more downforce on the rear axle. GEMBALLA´s AERO-CONCEPT considerably increases the air stream through the car´s body, which is the pre-condition for the cooling of the next power upgrade to 800 hp currently being in preparation.

The lion’s share of the extra downforce over the production-line vehicle is due to the mighty GEMBALLA rear wing that adorns the rear of the car. It comes with an electronically controlled flap in the middle, which snaps up at speeds of up to 120 km/h to increase downforce in curves and integrates itself again smoothly into the rear wing structure above 120 km/h. The increase in downforce is approx. 30 kg at the front axle and up to 85 kg at the rear axle. The roof line of the GEMBALLA Mirage GT also starkly differs from the standard Carrera GT. The front section of an airbox has been integrated into the new GEMBALLA hardtop. This ends in an air duct that runs along the back of the tailgate installed by GEMBALLA and supplies the power-enhanced V10-engine with more air to breathe.

With the GEMBALLA AERO CONCEPT, the Mirage GT fits perfectly into the starting line-up of any FIA-GT race. Not least also because of the materials used by GEMBALLA – all parts of the body of the Mirage GT are made of carbon fibre; a material common in the world of racing.

The GEMBALLA Mirage GT also sports a high-tech pair of “shoes”. GEMBALLA fits the three-part rims, with their fully-milled spoke wheel centre front (9.5 x 19˝) and back (12.5 x 20”). Excellent road holding is guaranteed on the front axle by 265-35 R 19 tyres and on the rear axle by 335-30 R 20 tyres.

Â

Finest interior components

The motor sports look created on the outside thanks to the carbon components is resumed in the interior. GEMBALLA has restyled the central console, which likewise consists of this high-grade material. This is joined by countless other carbon components, such as, for example, the door cladding. GEMBALLA has also integrated a multimedia touch-screen information system into the central console. In addition, the passengers’ senses of sight, smell and touch are also spoilt by the finest leather and luxury carpets. The modified steering wheel allows the driver to keep a strong grip on the reins of the GEMBALLA Mirage GT.

The Mirage GT is an impressive example of GEMBALLA’s capability, and represents high-end tuning at its best. The cost of the comprehensive conversion, which can only be carried out by GEMBALLA, starts from EUR 229,800 plus local VAT.

Racing-look GEMBALLA Mirage GT with more power. Around 1500 of Porsche’s prestige product, the Carrera GT, have been built, all of which have now been sold. Owners worried about the individuality of their vehicle, in spite of its rareness, would be well-advised to make an appointment with GEMBALLA.

Thanks to its expertise, as the only Porsche tuner GEMBALLA has comprehensively modified the high-tech car from Weissach, while at the same time adding an individual touch. In addition, performance addicts can obtain even more of what they want. The spectacular end product answers to the name of GEMBALLA Mirage GT and outshines its production-line counterpart in every respect.

The Carrera GT engine is a dream. A meaty 5.7-litre V10 boasting 612 horsepower. What more could one want? More power of course! GEMBALLA operates on the same principle as racing drivers: “You can never have too much power“. By modifying the engine management electronics, GEMBALLA has been able to squeeze out a further 60 bhp of power and 20 Nm more torque for the V10, slicing off 0.1 seconds off the time it takes to go from 0 to 100 km/h. The added performance has also been aided by a new, fully stainless steel exhaust system that now resounds through four tail pipes instead of the standard two. GEMBALLA has positioned the two extra tail pipes where the reverse and fog warning lamps used to be. The tuning specialist has relocated the two lamps to beneath the rear diffuser.

Complete racing look
With the GEMBALLA BODY-CONCEPT, the Mirage GT looks like it is planning to enter the Le Mans 24-hour race.

The lion’s share of the extra downforce over the production-line vehicle is due to the mighty GEMBALLA rear wing that adorns the rear of the car. For better slowing, it comes with an brake-flap in the middle – like the kind seen on the Bugatti Veyron – which snaps up when the brakes are applied.

With the GEMBALLA body kit, the Mirage GT fits perfectly into the starting line-up of any FIA-GT race.

Is it possible to make a Porsche Carrera GT even more sporty and exclusive? Yes it is! TechArt Automobildesign now customizes one of the rare mid-engine super sports cars for one of its long-time customers.

The TechArt designers have developed aerodynamically efficient custom-tailored body components made from exposed carbon fiber that serve as a visual contrast to the metallic-orange special paint. A new air outlet on the upper half of the front fascia and a one-piece spoiler lip on the lower half give the front of the two-seater an even more dynamic appearance. The low-reaching front spoiler reduces lift on the front axle at high speeds further and thus further optimizes directional stability.

TechArt has also developed a three-piece gurney flap that serves as the aerodynamic counterpart in the rear. The center piece of the separation edge extends together with the pop-up rear wing and in combination with the fixed spoiler edges on the left and right produces additional downforce on the rear axle.

While suspension and tires remain untouched the peripherals of the 5.7-liter V10 engine are upgraded with a TechArt stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system and a modified intake system. Both benefit not only the engine sound that escapes through the two production tailpipes; the modifications also increase maximum power output from 612 hp / 450 kW to some 635 hp / 467 kW.

Further room for improvement of the Carrera GT lay in the cockpit. TechArt customized the interior with an ergonomically shaped sport steering wheel with leather/carbon fiber rim, and a shifter made from exposed carbon fiber. Requests for even more exclusive and colorful fully leather interiors are answered by the TechArt upholstery shop.
